Signs of Inflation in Japan: Vending Machine Prices Going Up For First Time in 15 Years

Coca-Cola to hike vending machine prices in Japan
The Coca-Cola group will raise prices on some vending machine offerings in Japan by about 10 yen (9 cents) when the consumption tax rises to 8% this April.

The beverage giant controls 28% of the soft-drink market in Japan and about 40% of vending machines here. Its move will have a major impact on the industry, likely prompting Suntory Beverage & Food and others to follow suit.
