This chart shows the transaction volumes for new homes in Beijing by year for 2010, 2011, and 2012. The drop-off in September 2011, when the stock market started pricing in the slowdown, is clearly apparent. Also clear is the rebound in spring 2012, but it stalled in September. Transaction volumes for new and existing homes fell 24% and 12%, respectively, from their August levels.
