Fixed asset investment tumbled to open 2015. In the case of private fixed asset investment, the drop in February 2015 from December 2014 was about 27%. This is almost the exact same drop as seen in 2014 and below the one-month drop seen at the start of 2013. In other words, no surprise drop in the data. All the drop indicates is the change in the calendar, with the YTD cumulative growth now at the one-month trend. \

As with private investment, total fixed asset investment started the year at roughly the same relative position as in previous years. This is not a one time blip in the data, but a continuation of the 2014 trend.
