Producer Price Booms

Three of these periods are wars including the 1970s with Vietnam and the War on Poverty kicking off. The other two are the 2000s Fed bubble and the 2020s Fed bubble. Many have pointed out inflation at its highest in 40-years, but we don't need to go back that far for a good example. The 2000s producer price inflation was about 60 percent from 2002 to the peak in 2008. Since the low in March 2020, prices are already up 40 percent. The 10-year yield was bertween 3 and 5 percent during that period.
