Chinese power supplies remain tight

One reason to be bullish on nuclear power construction and other cost-effective energy supplies is because China needs power.

No end in sight for mainland blackouts
"In 2012, the effects from macro-economic tightening will further show up ... power demand will slow down," it said.

"But due to slower growth in coal-fired generating capacity, insufficient coal supply and uncertainty of water supply for hydro units, power supply will remain on the tight side."
That's the key paragraph right there. Even if the economy slows, power supplies will remain tight.
